On the patio behind R.P. McMurphy’s you can almost hear the accordions playing and even imagine Edith Piaf singing La Vie En Rose. One may think you are dining in Paris, the City of Light; on the River Seine enjoying some duck confit; sipping a Pinot Bianco in Venice; or perhaps Barcelona, the City of Counts, having some tapas. The structure in which R.P.’s is located has been in existance since the 1800’s. The patio was added several years ago. The City of Wyandotte recognized the restaurant with their Beautification Award for creating and maintaining the serene area. Some people prefer a cafe patio area in front of an establishment where they can hear the traffic and “people watch”. By contrast R.P.’s patio is situated in a way that you don’t have to raise your voice or wait for a traffic light to turn red so you can hear or be heard.
