Leo Stevenson and his team have more than 150 years experience
As a young boy, his first business adventure began at age ten delivering papers for the Detroit Free Press in Wyandotte. This job lasted until he left for college at Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial administration. From this early work experience he understood what it meant to work hard and how to treat people. He has held this same work ethic as a high priority all of his life.
Stevenson, Managing Director, and his ever expanding team at Merrill Lynch – Wyandotte Group, have more than 150 years experience with diverse backgrounds in numerous financial areas. The current building at the corner of Biddle Avenue and Oak Street in Wyandotte is undergoing an office expansion to include second floor offices to be completed October 2018.
Recently Stevenson was named to the Forbes’ Top 250 Advisor list and a long with his team has also been named to the prestigious Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisor award for the last five years. Both of these honors are based on criteria such as quality of the advisors on-going practice, community involvement, size of practice, and compliance record. The recipients of these awards are found in the one percent of their profession.
With all of Stevenson’s successful business experiences, he is enthusiastic to share his knowledge to help others in the industry to better serve their clients. He has trained over 600 financial advisors on his investment platforms and relationship management.
Stevenson’s involvement with Downriver goes beyond his business location. He serves on the City of Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority Board, is a member of his parish’s finance committee, has future endowed scholarships for students graduating from Wyandotte Roosevelt and Grosse Ile High Schools and as a past member of the Downriver Salvation Army, helped establish the bi-weekly soup kitchen.
